On early Land Cruiser 70/73 models, the control arms and Panhard rods locate the two solid axles. When the original rubber bushings become soft or worn, the axles can move more under braking, acceleration and on uneven ground.

This orange 75 Shore A kit renews the main mounting points on the front and rear axles. It is intended for vehicles used on the road, for travel and off-road, where more controlled axle location is required.

Why use PU on a solid axle?

The control-arm bushings absorb drive and braking forces, while the Panhard rods locate the axles laterally. Ageing rubber can deflect more at these points and allow additional play.

Polyurethane is more dimensionally stable under load. This can help keep the axle position more consistent during load changes and steering inputs. The 75 Shore A version is designed for mixed use rather than maximum stiffness.

Installation note

The old bushings must be removed completely and the mounting points cleaned. Use the supplied assembly grease on the specified contact surfaces. Suspension and axle-location work should be carried out correctly, and all fasteners should be checked afterwards.
