Do you want to explore new paths off-road with your Mercedes ML and ensure that your vehicle makes it back without technical defects? Protecting the central drive components is crucial for this. While the ML W164 offers an excellent basis for off-road tours, the main gearbox and transfer case are dangerously exposed without additional armor.

Maximum stability through intelligent design

This protection has been developed for the highest mechanical loads:

• Robust materials: Made from 3 mm thick steel sheet, precisely cut by CNC laser and formed on CNC press brakes.

• Extreme torsional rigidity: The plate is folded 90 degrees all around and features additional cross-embossments. This design effectively prevents bending during direct ground contact or hard impacts against rocks.

• Superior corrosion protection: To permanently withstand the extreme conditions under the vehicle (moisture, mud, road salt), the entire protective plate is galvanized.

Assembly & System Integration

The plate is designed as part of a modular protection system:

• Stable connection: At the front, the plate is bolted directly to the RTECH engine skid plate to form a seamless protective surface.

• Mounting: Installation is done at a total of 4 points. At the rear, drilling two holes (Ø 12 mm) is required to ensure maximum stability on the frame.

• DIY-friendly: Installation is easily doable with standard tools, a helping hand, and a little time. The complete mounting kit is included in the scope of delivery.
