The MorE 4x4 steel gearbox skid plate for the Toyota Land Cruiser (J120 series – long wheelbase & J125 – short wheelbase) offers high-strength protection for one of the most important and expensive mechanical components of your vehicle. While the front engine bay is usually the focus, the gearbox area in the middle of the vehicle is often subjected to extreme stress in rough terrain.

The Land Cruiser 120 is known for its enormous reliability, but those who drive it in tough terrain, on overland tours, or in demanding forestry work quickly push the factory covers to their limits. When driving over crests, rocky forest paths, harsh embankment edges, or massive tree stumps, the center of the gearbox is particularly vulnerable. If the heavy all-wheel drive vehicle hits hard here, there is a risk of cracks in the gearbox housing, deformation of the mounts, and fatal oil loss – leading to extremely expensive consequential damage to the manual or automatic transmission.

This vehicle-specific underbody protection perfectly closes this security gap. The smooth surface also ensures that in an emergency, the vehicle glides over obstacles rather than getting stuck. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, this skid plate can be mounted completely independently and separately, without necessarily having to install the remaining plates of the underbody system (such as the front engine guard).
